Transcript Request Letter

Transcript also called a detailed marks sheet in many of the institutions is a summary of all the courses attended by a student and the respective grades earned in it. The transcript is an important document and is required whenever the student plans to take on higher education or looks for a suitable job. Request for transcript is made by the student to his institution for release of his original documents which may be produced for any desired purpose.

  • Be graceful and respectful in giving salutation to the designated authority (e.g. Record Officer or Registrar).
  • May contain a centre heading, justifying the cause of writing the letter.
  • Be specific as to your course enrolment number and year of graduation from the college.
  • Explain in brief the need and urgency of the transcript.
  • Do not forget to give in your latest postal address if it has to be couriered.
  • End with a respectful salutation.
