Warning letters are issued to the employees of an organization to keep a check on the wrong doings of the employees. Every organization has its own systems to monitor their employees. To keep a check on the happenings in the office, surveillance cameras and inputs from HR department are useful. Expectations from employees are usually high in a company. If any shortage is seen, employees are given warning letters.
A warning letter is given to the employee when the performance is not up to the mark. It is an official letter written by an employee to warn the employee so that the mistakes are not repeated and performance is improved.
Though it is a warning letter, it should not sound rude. The tone of the letter should be firm. A warning letter remains as a red mark on an employee’s record. Usually most of the companies issue verbal warnings before the issue of a warning letter.

  • The content of the letter should not be personal. It should not sound insulting to the concerned person.
  • For retaining the impact of the letter, the letter should be crisp and short.
  • Date should be clearly mentioned on the letter.
  • There should not be any ambiguity in the content presented in the letter.
