Give Personal Compliments Or Praise

Last Updated On May 29, 2018 By Letter Writing

A letter complimenting or praising your friend, employee, colleague etc is a very commonly used letter. It is most often written to someone you are in love with. Anybody loves receiving a nice compliment, but giving a giving a genuine compliment is not always easy. Your tone must be just right, or else your words will be taken the wrong way. The key is to say something honestly and be sincere. The authenticity of your remark will surely make someone very happy.

Complimenting someone on something that is very noticeable and obvious is easy. You could compliment him/her on his/her shirt or hair, but a really good compliment does better. It praises something that not everyone, sometimes not even the person himself/ herself has noticed. Think about what you are going to compliment on and how before you do it. It must not give rise to any confusion. However, do not overdo it. Too many compliments showered upon a person will sound false. Also, this will make the person question your sincerity. Compliment a little more sparingly, and your words will have more impact. Delivery is everything when it comes to complimenting someone. The important thing is to sound like you really mean what you say so that your compliment isn’t taken the wrong way.
