Recommendation letter is written as a supporting, informative letter which helps any type of organisation, institute or any workplace understand the personality, basic character, strengths and specialities of the person who is being recommended whether for a job ,an award or any special purposes. A recommendation letter for nursing is very important as different types of ailments require different well-trained nurses.

A new nurse would require recommendation for her/his first employment opportunity.A nurse leaving one organization and joining another would need the help of a recommendation letter in order to assist herself/himself with the hiring process in the subsequent facility.

The responsibility of writing a recommendation letter for nursing should be taken by someone who is very much familiar with the nurse. He /she should write a sincere and positive letter which will reflect the qualities and capabilities of the nurse. It can be a reference letter for nurses given by the previous employer, doctor or a previous important and well-treated patient.

Here are the basic tips and few samples to help you write a letter of recommendation for a nursing student or nursing co-workers.

Nursing Letter Of Recommendation Writing Tips

  • When the letter is written, it is important that the recommending individual writes, keeping in mind a clear view of the resume of the nurse. If the nurse possesses any specific skill, then he/she should not forget to mention it. Previous working experience should be included.
  • The letter should be started by explaining how well the recommending individual knows about the nurse. This is very important. He/She could be someone who has worked with her/him and someone who knows the nursing career, such as professor, medical supervisor or doctor.
  • The recommending individual should specify the nurse’s qualifications for the job. The technical and personal skills should be mentioned in the letter.
  • It should be concise and focused on the reason the nurse should be hired.
