A settlement release letter is a letter which is written to settle a dispute and to avoid going to the court. Either of the disputed parties can write a full settlement release letter.  Usually, the party having a faulty part in the dispute is the one who releases a settlement letter.

This letter contains all the terms and conditions of a settlement and the part that both the parties will have to play after the settlement, is written in this letter.

This is an official and formal letter. Be polite and to the point. Make sure that the settlement agreements are fair for both parties.

Settlement Release Letter Tips

  • Be precise and to the point.
  • Make sure the settlement is not too demanding for either of the party’s assets.
  • Be fair and just so that the matter does not go to court.
  • Write in the correct format and try to make most of the formalities.

Settlement Release Letter Email Format

The following is an Email format of a settlement release letter.

Dear Sir/ Ma’am,

I have sent this letter to inform you that as per our telephonic conversation on _______(mention the date), I will credit to your bank account a total of ____(enter amount) dollars, in order to settle the dues on my account which will be marked as full payment. I request that in three week’s time of payment, all charges of dues are to be deleted from my account marking it with paid as agreed.

I request you to agree to these terms and conditions and send a signed document back to me, immediately after which I will make the payment. I hope you will make the efforts for us to resolve this issue peacefully.
