Job Transfer Letter

Last Updated On September 10, 2018 By Letter Writing

A job transfer letter is a formal letter written to request a transfer to a different office location within the same company/organisation. A transfer may be due to personal, professional or financial reasons. The job transfer letter primarily concerns the Human Resources department of an organisation, which would assess the feasibility of granting a job transfer to the applicant. A job transfer letter should include details of why the applicant is applying for transfer and the request must be made to the applicant’s immediate superiors as well as the Human Resources Department.

The applicant must remember while writing a job transfer letter, that the decision of acceptance or rejection of the request for transfer may not be with the applicant. Therefore, the letter must clearly mention the situation of the applicant. The letter should be structured in such a manner that the reasons given by the applicant must favour the job transfer. The letter should have a tone of humility and should be formal.
