Condolence Letter to Colleague

Last Updated On August 16, 2018 By Letter Writing Leave a Comment

In an office environment, we work as a team with many people around us. A colleague is a person who works with us in the office and helps us in solving any problem in office work. They become our office family and a part of our life as we spend most of the day with our colleagues. Thus, sharing each other’s joys and sorrows comes naturally, increasing the bond beyond professional relations. So, we must support any of our colleague in case he/ she loses his/ her family member.

You can show your support to your colleague by writing a condolence letter. You must make him/ her understand that right now you are there and he/ she does not need to worry about anything. Also, since this is a sensitive subject, you must use your words wisely and make sure that you do not wound the person even more.

Tips to write a condolence letter to a colleague

  • The letter should be polite and supportive.
  • You must be empathetic to the person and express your care.
  • The letter must be well written, and hence you must choose your words carefully.
  • You must try to make the person feel better rather than reminding him/her of the loss.

Subject: – Condolence on the death of your son

Dear Robert,

I would like to show my sincere grief on the sudden death of your son. It is really painful that you have lost your son at this young age. He was very talented, and a well behaved young man and will always be in our remembering. It is unreal for me to think that he is not with us.

We are always with you and your family during this difficult time. We must understand that it is life and now is the test of your patience, so I will pray that you get the power to accept this unfortunate thing. Please feel free to ask for any personal or financial help. Also, do not worry about anything in the office. I assure you that everything will be taken care of. You take your time to cope up with the situation.

Thanks

Cody Barken.
