Leave Of Absence Letter

Last Updated On July 9, 2018 By Letter Writing Leave a Comment

A leave application is when you write a letter to let the employer know that you need a leave from work for a certain reason. There are certain times when we need to take leave from our working schedule due to some personal reasons.  For this, we need to inform our employer regarding the same. A leave absence application is a request to the employer to grant you leave. It can be approved as well as declined depending upon the reason of leave. But a formal application is more likely to get a positive response and hence writing an application is always preferable.

Though you can do the needful verbally also, a written communication regarding your leave will express your professionalism and will also serve as a solid proof of your absence. A request may not necessary be approved, depending on the reason for your absence, but never the less, a well-written application is more likely to get a positive response. This is a formal letter that an employee writes to the management, for granting him leave of absence from his work. The duration of the leave and the reason should be mentioned in a precise manner.

From:

Mr. James Koch,

Arthur 21 Road,

Canada

To:

The Chairman

Mother and Andria

Lawyers and Solicitors,

Rosewood Building,

Park Street

California

DD/MM/YYYY

Ref: Request for leave for six days.

Dear Mr. Koch,

Due to my wife being sick and with a small child to attend to, it is becoming difficult for me to devote time at school and home. As you are well aware that my wife was not keeping well for the past one month, so she had to be hospitalized.

It was with your cooperation and support that I was able to manage school and home. Now that she has come home I am finding it difficult to manage all the things together as she is still not able to move about and need complete time and care. Though I have requested my mother-in-law to help us out and she will be arriving within a week yet, it is essential to take care of her and the baby.

I, therefore, request you to kindly grant me leave for six days .i.e. from DD/MM/YYYY to DD/MM/YYYY. I have made arrangements for the substitute teacher to take the classes regularly and have coached her on the work to be done with the students in my absence.

Your positive response will be highly appreciated.

Thanking You,

Yours sincerely,

Jonathan Price
