Annual Leave Letter

Last Updated On September 18, 2018 By Letter Writing Leave a Comment

Annual leave letter is written either by an employee to ask for a leave or by a company asking its employee to take annual leave. An annual leave is usually guaranteed by the employer to the employee as a part of the employment contract. Therefore, the letter must include details regarding the dates of absences, the purpose of absence and other important information that you wish to communicate to the employer. This letter is usually written to the Human Resources Department who handle matters of leaves granted to employees.

The leave letter should be formal and concise. The letter should not include a detailed description of the causes of absence. If such absence causes difficulties for the organization, then the employee must mention the work pending or the work assigned to another individual, a colleague or a superior. The letter differs from general leave letters in so far as it clearly mentions the aspect of the annual leave entitlement.
