Sample Holiday Letter

Last Updated On September 10, 2018 By Letter Writing Leave a Comment

It is a personal responsibility to give advance intimation to your employer, senior or teacher when you have to take a vacation due to whatever reason. It is expected of a person to give notice so that accordingly alternatives can be arranged well in time to not hinder the organization’s working. It is also a common courtesy to let someone know when and why you won’t be present for your usual duties.

A holiday letter is written in such cases to inform the boss, employer at work or class-teacher/principal at the school of your plan to proceed on holiday in a formal tone well in advance. Holidays are mostly planned except in an emergency, so a person has enough time to intimate their senior about it. Hence, permission for a holiday is mostly asked in advance and granted based on submission of an earlier leave plan or by putting forth valid reasons for urgent, yet long holiday.
