Sample Letter For Planning A Holiday

Last Updated On July 18, 2018 By Letter Writing Leave a Comment

A letter planning a holiday is usually written by an employee in an organization for his/her boss/employer to get approval for their holiday plan. The applicant specifies the duration and dates of the holiday plan. This letter is mostly written well in advance to book tickets, make reservations and give sufficient notice to the boss for making stand-by arrangements for the applicant. You should also check whether the dates you want to take leave are in favor of you and your company. Because every company will have a certain period where every employee should work compulsory to their progress, at that particular time the company will not be happy with your decision, i.e. taking a two or three-week leave.

Usually, holiday trip lasts up to two to three weeks. Many employees take this type of leave once per year. In addition to this some of the employees belonging to the same company plan for a one week trip. However, every person who is working should take this type of leave to spend quality time with his/her family. There should be a balance between professional life and personal life. That means an employee should do his/her work accordingly and when there is a chance he/she should spend time for recreation.

Subject: Request for a three week holiday.

Dear Mukesh,

I am Venkat working as an Assistant Software Engineer. I am writing this letter to ask your permission to plan my holiday for three weeks in August of this year to go on a family vacation. I will avail leave from 03 August 2016 to 24 August 2016 and report for work on the 25th August 2016. As my family members plan a trip for every year, it is, like, a routine in the family. This year they planned a three-week trip which includes many cities like Bangalore, Kerala, Chennai, and so on. I thought of making my plans, get your approval and then proceed with booking tickets and other reservations.

I will hand over my duties and responsibilities to my colleague Larson for the duration of my holiday period. I request you to kindly approve my holiday plan at the earliest so that I can make my reservations and oblige. I will leave my contact details with your office in case of any emergency in my absence. As I am a new employee, it may be hard for you to grant the permission but do consider my plea. I promise you that I will try not to take leave after my return from the trip. Hoping a positive reply from you.

Thanking you in anticipation,

Yours Sincerely,

Venkat
