By Letter Writing Leave a Comment

A character reference letter is a recommendation letter written by someone who can attest to your character. A referrer can be you someone who knows you well and can positively attribute to your characteristics. A close friend, family member, colleague, coworkers, etc. can prove to be a good source as a referral.

These letters may be required by people applying to join an association or purchase a property. These letters are also required for jobs that require a high level of trustworthiness. A character reference letter includes one’s opinion about the person being addressed. This letter is usually written to the head of the company/school/university or any higher official.

A character reference letter is written by a person who knows you well. An employer might ask for your character reference in addition to other employment’s references. It allows a reader to learn a bit more about you and your character, particularly from outside of work. A character reference letter accentuates your personality, including your loyalty, credibility, and ethics rather than skills and experiences relating to a specific job.
