It is a proof for the citizens of India for casting votes in the country’s national, state and municipal elections. Not just this, it is also used as identity proof for different other purposes like buying a mobile phone, applying for the passport, etc.

Another name for the Voter Id is the Electoral Photo ID card. This identity card was introduced in the year 1993. You write a letter to the Election Commission Of India for issuing the Voter’s ID.
