A charity letter is written on behalf of or by an NGO in order to mobilize organizations to support them through monetary contributions. The reasons for such charitable collections may wary from noble causes like empowerment of a certain section of society to disaster relief. Such letters should amplify the work that the NGO is doing and the need for funds.

Mention that the charity done by them will be helpful to a lot of people in a number of ways. If you are asking for chairty for a specific, mention that in the letter. 

Sample Charity Funds Request Letter Writing Tips:

  • Letter must clearly bring out the work done by your organisation/NGO.
  • It must further state the effect of natural disaster (or state of a community).
  • Should clearly amplify the need for funds.
  • Letter must justify in short as to how these funds will be used.
  • In case the organisation will get any benefits like Income Tax Rebate etc should also be stated.

Our NGO has taken part in numerous disaster relief activities both at national and international level.

We request your support in terms of monetary contributions which can help us rehabilitate the displaced people who are presently living in 2 camps looked after by our organization. Rehabilitation will include construction of shelters; water provisioning and construction of small tracks to enable these people to start their livelihood again.

I would like to inform that all contributions are eligible for 50% tax deduction under section 80G of Indian Income Tax Act. You are hereby requested to contribute lavishly for the noble cause.
