A resignation letter is written by an employee to inform the superior/boss of his/her decision to resign from the organization by giving valid reasons or politely mentioning personal reasons for the same.

If the sender is declining a hike in salary, higher post or promotion while quitting, he/she should appreciate the offer, politely refuse and then information about his/her decision to resign. Nowadays, it is only common to switch from one company to another for better opportunities and growth.

The letter should include the reasons for resignation but also include a thank you to all your colleagues and boss through your journey.

Apart from this, including details about your replacement and the knowledge transition information, in brief, would be a good gesture. To communicate the resignation along with the reasons, a resignation letter would be the ideal medium. A well written & professional resignation letter helps to maintain amicable relations with the company after leaving.

Dear Ms. Parish,

I would like to serve one month’s notice of my resignation from the post of Senior House Keeping Supervisor from Guildmere Resorts, with my last working day being 17th October 2013.
