Property tax appeal is meant to appeal to the authorities concerned to make reasonable tax concessions in the house property tax as it is possible to trim the property tax bill by appealing the assessed value of your home. It is through appealing the real estate assessment which forms the basis of the property assessment. Usually, the property tax is calculated by multiplying your home’s assessed value by the local tax rate, which can vary from town to town.
A real estate assessment is needed to conduct periodically by the local government to assign a value to your home for taxation purposes. Thus making a proper and appropriate appeal to the bodies concerned becomes an essential element. There are certain points to be remembered while drafting a property tax appeal.
