Writing a Promotion Letter

Last Updated On June 27, 2018 By Letter Writing Leave a Comment

Promotion letters are basically letters written to an employee by the organization informing him/her about the promotion to a higher position that has more responsibilities, it also offers an increase in salary, added perks, extra workload and new obligations to the new job. It is very important for the organization to provide the exact information pertaining to the new job; its responsibilities, salary, and additional benefits. There are some other letters in reference to promotion opportunity, such as recommendation letter, a direct request from an employee asking for the position.

The promotion request letter is usually written by an employee of the organisation to convey his interest in being promoted to a higher position. If a person is writing the promotion letter for the first time, it can be a risky task for him. In a promotion request letter, a person should give all the details required, such as his/her accomplishments throughout his/her tenure in the organisation. As is seen nowadays, most organisations offer the existing staff promotions with higher pay rather than hiring someone new. So if the existing employee is good at his/her job, is hardworking and is confident about carrying the added responsibility well, then that person can request for a promotion.
